Alef Kaballah

The Effect on G-d 19 Kislev

27 November 2018
Vayeshev
19 Kislev

The Rebbe taught this discourse on 19 Kislev in 1964. It begins "Pada beshalom" (Psalms, 55:19) meaning '[G-d] redeemed in peace' my soul. Rabbi Shneur Zalman was reading this verse when he was informed that he was free from prison, on 19 Kislev, 1798. But the Talmud explains the verse in terms of, so to speak, redeeming G-d. The discourse explains how the service of the individual, so to speak, 'elevates' the Divine.
